The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board conducted the WB ANM/GNM exam on October 19, 2025. Applicants who want to qualify for the exam must practice WB ANM/GNM question papers. Q:   What is the exam pattern of WB ANM GNM exam?

The WB ANM GNM exam pattern is very important to understand for candidates appearing for the exam. The exam is conducted in offline mode and the question paper takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. Except for the English and logical reasoning sections, the questions will be in both English and Bengali. All the questions will be objective-type. All correct questions fetch 2 marks each and there is NO negative marking for the unattempted or incorrect options being chosen.

Q:   Are there any subjective questions in the WB ANM/GNM exam?
A: 

No, the West Bengal ANM/GNM nursing entrance will carry only objective questions. However, there are 1-mark and 2-mark questions in the exam. But all these questions carry four options each to test the aspirant. As of now, no subjective questions are given in the entrance.

Q:   When is WB ANM GNM exam conducted?
A: 

The WB ANM/GNM exam 2025 was held on October 19, 2025. The exam will be conducted in offline mode at the designated test centres in West Bengal. Each candidate will be provided with an OMR sheet. Candidates will have to darken the responses to choose the correct answer. Once a response is marked, it cannot be edited/changed/erased/modified. The entrance exam is conducted once a year by the exam-conducting body.

Q:   What is the full form of ANM and GNM?
A: 

ANM is called Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery while the full form of GNM is General Nursing and Midwifery). Both are two most popular nursing courses in India. West Bengal conducts a separate entrance exam for candidates domiciled in the state to grant admission to ANM and GNM courses. These two courses are distinct from the BSc nursing programme.

Q:   How to apply for WB ANM GNM exam?

The WB ANM registration process was conducted entirely online. This year WB ANM application process began in the last week of August. Applicants had to visit the official website of WBJEEB, wbjeeb.nic.in. Create an account by registering using your personal details. Complete and submit the application form, scan and upload a copy of your picture and signature, followed by paying the application fee in online mode.

No, as per the eligibility criteria defined by WBJEEB, a bihar domiciled candidates does not qualify to appear or apply for the entrance exam. He/she will not be able to apply for the government colleges in the state.
