Two Types of CEE Exams

  • NCERT CEE (Common Entrance Examination)

    • For admission to Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) in teacher education programs (B.A.B.Ed, B.Sc.B.Ed, M.Sc.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed).

    • Held once annually, usually in May–June.

    • Mode: Computer-Based Test.

  • Assam CEE (Combined Entrance Examination)

    • For admission to B.Tech programs in Assam engineering colleges.

    • Held once annually, generally in June.

    • Mode: Pen-and-paper (OMR-based).

The CEE exam (Common Entrance Examination) is conducted only once a year. Both the NCERT CEE (for admission to Regional Institutes of Education teacher training programs) and the Assam CEE (for B.Tech admissions in Assam) are annual entrance tests.


 NCERT CEE (Regional Institutes of Education)

  • Conducting Body: NCERT
  • Purpose: Admission to integrated teacher education programs (B.A.B.Ed, B.Sc.B.Ed, M.Sc.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed, etc.) at RIEs (Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, Shillong, Nellore).
  • Frequency: Once a year (usually May–June).
