Canara Bank PO eligibility criteria: Nationality

Candidates must be either:

(1) A citizen of India or

(2) A subject of Nepal or

(3) A subject of Bhutan or

(4) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(5) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia & Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that the candidates belong to the categories 2, 3, 4 & 5 and certificate of eligibility has been issued by the government of India.

Canara Bank PO eligibility criteria: Educational Qualification

Candidates for Canara Bank PO must have a degree in any discipline with 60% and 55% for SC/ST/PWBD from a recognised university.

Canara Bank PO eligibility criteria: Age Limit

Candidates should be between 20 to 30 years. The category-wise relaxation in the upper age limit to be given to the reserved category candidates is given below:

Canara Bank PO eligibility criteria: Computer Literacy

Candidates must have operating & working knowledge in computer systems. They must possess or gain within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

Canara Bank PO eligibility criteria: Hindi Knowledge

Candidates must have working knowledge in Hindi. If not, they must acquire before completion of a probationary period.

Details about reservation policy

  • The relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed on a cumulative basis.
  • Maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates.
  • Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit necessary certificates.
  • There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in Officer Cadre Posts.
  • Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and if their caste is not there in the Central OBC list for the state in which they belongs are not entitled to OBC reservation. They need to apply under General category.
