Over 1.45 crore candidates had registered for the various exams conducted by IBPS. Out of which, a total of 97 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. 

IBPS

According to the data released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, over 1.45 crore candidates had registered for the various exams. Out of which, a total of 97 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. In 2018-19, over 1.1 crore candidates had registered for the various exams of IBPS. Against the number of registered candidates, total 69 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

In this article, we have discussed the number of registered and appeared candidates of various exams conducted by IBPS in 2019-20.

IBPS Exams: Number of Registered Vs Appeared

The number of registered and appeared candidates of IBPS PO, Clerk, RRB and SO are given below.

IBPS PO

In 2019-20, a total of 8.25 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. A total of 5.76 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam. In 2018-19, a total of 8.79 candidates had registered for the exam and 6.58 lakh candidates have appeared in the exam. Compared to 2018-19, a lesser number of candidates registered and appeared for the exam in 2019-20.

IBPS Clerk

In 2019-20, a total of 9.91 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. A total of 6.65 lakh candidates had appeared in IBPS Clerk exam. The number of candidates appeared and registered for IBPS Clerk in 2019-20 is less compared to 2018-19. In 2018-19, a total of 10.82 lakh candidates had registered for the exam while 7.49 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

IBPS SO

In 2019-20, a total of 1.6 lakh candidates had registered for the IBPS SO exam. Out of which, a total of 1.23 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam. In 2018-19, a total of 2.01 lakh candidates had registered for the exam and 1.57 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

IBPS RRB

In 2019-20, a total of 7.13 lakh candidates had registered for Office Assistant post while 5.39 lakh candidates had registered for Officers post. Out of the total registered candidates, a total of 4.89 lakh candidates had appeared for Office Assistants post while 4.09 lakh candidates had appeared for Officers post. In 2018-19, a total of 8.65 lakh candidates had registered for Office Assistant post while 6.54 lakh candidates had registered for Officers post. Out of the registered candidates, a total of 6.66 lakh candidates had appeared for Office Assistant post exam while 5.11 lakh candidates had appeared for the IBPS RRB Officers exam.

IBPS

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examination for various public sector banks. The institute provides its service to SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, few Co.op.Banks, LIC, and Insurance Companies. The exams conducted by the institute are IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS SO and IBPS RRB.

The selection process of IBPS PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam and Interview. Candidates under IBPS Clerk recruitment is selected based on prelims and mains exams. IBPS RRB exam for Office Assistant is conducted in two stages: prelims and mains while the recruitment for Officers Scale I is conducted in three stages: prelims, mains and interview. The recruitment for Officers Scale II and III is completed in two stages: single level exam and interview.
