Candidates from BTech/BE background qualified the SSC CGL 2016 and 2017 exams in majority. Check details.

BTech Graduates Dominate SSC CGL Results

Most number of candidates qualifying the SSC CGL 2016 and 2017 exams were from technological background holding a Bachelor of Technology (BTech)/Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree. As per the data presented in the parliament recently, total 5,176 BTech candidates qualified the CGL 2016 exam and 4,546 BTech candidates qualified the CGL 2017 exam. Similarly, total 825 BE candidates qualified the CGL 2016 exam and total 800 candidates qualified the CGL 2017 exam.

As per the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitender Singh, the SSC CGL result data shows that from technical background 56.81 per cent candidates were selected in 2016 and 66.22 per cent candidates were selected in 2017.

After students from technical background, the majority of candidates who cleared the SSC CGL 2016 and 2017 exams are from BA and BSc background. Total 1,043 BA students cleared the CGL 2016 exam and 526 BA students cleared the CGL 2017 exam. On the other hand, the number of BSc candidates qualified the CGL 2016 and 2017 exams are 1,509 and 887, respectively.
