What is the tie-break criteria in SSC CGL?

In case of a tie in the combined aggregate score (in tier-I, -II and -III exams) of two or more candidates, the following criteria are adopted to create the merit list until the tie is resolved:

  • Total marks of a candidate in the tier-II exam
  • Total marks of a candidate in the tier-III exam
  • Total marks of a candidate in Tier-I exam
  • Date of birth, with older candidate, placed higher
  • Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear
