The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) prescribes detailed SSC Constable eligibility criteria for candidates seeking recruitment through the exam. In 2020, the commission has released total 5,846 SSC Constable (Executive) vacancies to recruit male and female candidates in Delhi Police. Candidates are recommended to go through the complete SSC Constable eligibility criteria prescribed by the commission to avoid disqualification at a later stage in the exam.

The commission has prescribed SSC Constable 2020 eligibility in terms of nationality, age limit and educational qualification. Given below is the detailed explanation of each criteria of SSC Constable eligibility for the reference of candidates.

To fulfill SSC Constable 2020 eligibility, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
SSC Constable Eligibility 2020: Educational Qualification
Candidates who have cleared Class 12 from a recognised board/university as on September 7, 2020 (that is the closing date of SSC Constable applications) are eligible to apply for SSC Constable (Executive) recruitment exam. Educational qualification is relaxable upto Class 11 for:
- Sons/daughters of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/multi-tasking staff of Delhi Police
- Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc. of Delhi Police only
Important points to note:
- Apart from the educational qualification mentioned above, male candidates must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motor Cycle or Car) as on the date of Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT). Learner's license is not acceptable.
- Candidates who have not acquired the required educational qualification as on the prescribed date are not eligible for the exam
- Candidates who have acquired the required educational qualification through open learning are eligible to apply for the exam
SSC Constable Eligibility 2020: Age Limit
Candidates should be aged between 18 and 25 years as on July 1, 2020. This means that candidates should not have been born earlier than July 2, 1995 or later than July 1, 2002. However, the commission provides relaxation in the upper age limit to reserved category candidates as mentioned below:

Note: Only the date of birth and name as recorded in the Class 10 or equivalent certificate will be accepted by Staff Selection Commission for determining the age and name of candidates.
Children of Delhi Police personnel and Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Hill Area categories are not entitled to get double relaxation. They can claim reservation benefit in either of the category.
