The Madhya Pradesh government founded Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University (MCBU) in 2015. Accredited by AICTE, AIU, AISHE, MPCST, and the University Grants Commission (UGC), it is recognized. In addition to the six districts, MCBU has affiliations with about 149 colleges in the districts of Niwari, Damoh, Sagar, Panna, and Tikamgarh. More than 100 courses are available for undergraduate and graduate degrees in science, art, and business at Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University. In addition to these fields of study, it also provides courses in social science, commerce, management, engineering, education, life sciences, medicine, arts and languages, and home science. Its well furnished classrooms and laboratories span 40 acres, although they have all of the modern recreational opportunities and equipment are required to deliver excellent learning environments. It also features a cafeteria, an auditorium, a playground, and laboratories. Additionally, MCBU offers its students hostel accommodations. Boys' and girls' hostels are located separately. Additionally, MCBU provides students with the option of lodging in hostels. There are also separate dorms there for boys and girls.

A 50% grade in the 12th grade (or 45% in the case of reserved categories) is required to be eligible for admission to an undergraduate program.
