To get admission in Osmania University, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The university selects students on both merit and entrance basis. Selected students have to pay the admission fees to complete the process.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) does not refund fees for missed courses or years when re-admission is sought. Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable. The university also does not refund fees for incomplete, illegible forms, or forms received after the last date.

There are a total of 900 seats for MSc programmes offered at the University College of Science, Osmania University. It is divided across the offered course specialisations. Candidates have to submit a few documents for admission confirmation. These documents are used for verification purposes. Some of the documents to be kept handy during BRAOU course admissions are:

• SSC/School Leaving Certificate (TC) is required for Name, Father Name, and Date of Birth Verification
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
• Bachelor's degree and mark sheets (for PG courses)
• Passport-size photograph
• Aadhaar card or another valid identity proof

Osmania University gives admission to its courses on the basis of Merit- and entrance-based tests. For admission to postgraduate, postgraduate diploma, and five-year integrated courses, Osmania University administers the Common Postgraduate Entrance Test (CPGET). In addition, Osmania University also accepts results from a number of national entrance exams, including the GATE, TSICET, CMAT, Andhra Pradesh ECET, and TS EAMCET, for undergraduate studies like BTech and other PG, PG Diploma, and Certificate programmes. Osmania University administers a PhD entrance exam for admission. Admission to Osmania University courses, including BA, BSc, and BBA, is also based on merit. 

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for any course at Osmania University may submit an online application through the website. The university releases a list with the shorlited students on its official website who can participate in the next round of admissions. For a few courses, the university also conducts a counseling session.
