No, CAT scores are not important for enrollment into Masters of Business Administration course at Chitkara University. Because CAT is not the only scores which are considered by the university, it also accepts the scores of MAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ CMAT.

Minimum qualifying cut off for IIM Ahmedabad is 95 percentile whereas for IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta, it is 85. However final cut offs for these three top IIMs are between 99 to 100 percentile.

From my side, there isn't really a strict “minimum CAT score” that GIBS publicly declares like some colleges do. When I applied, CAT was just one part of the whole selection and a lot also depended on the GD/PI, communication, clarity about why PGDM, and overall attitude.

I've seen classmates with very different score ranges getting selected because GIBS looks more at potential and how you present yourself rather than just the number. So even if your CAT score isn't too high, it doesn't close the door — they genuinely focus on the student, not just the percentile.

GIBS is pretty flexible when it comes to entrance exams. They accept almost all the common management tests — CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, State CET, and even GMAT. In my batch itself, we had students who came through different exams, not just CAT.

Honestly, that's one thing I liked about GIBS — they don't restrict the admission chances to only one or two exams. If you've taken any recognised management entrance, it counts. After that, they focus more on your overall profile, interview, and how serious you are about management studies, which makes the process feel fair rather than purely score-driven.

Yes, you can join Adarsh Institute of Management and Information Technology without appearing for CAT. This is because, the institute also accepts other tests. The accepted exams include CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ KMAT/ PGCET/ GMAT. Hence, if you have appeared for any of these, you can still apply.

Yes, you can absolutely get admission into the MBA programme without clearing CAT or MAT, because the university follows a flexible admission pathway that allows students to apply through its own entrance exam called CUCET. This exam acts as the primary route for MBA admissions, and it is designed to evaluate your aptitude, reasoning ability, and basic business understanding. Scoring well in CUCET not only helps you secure your seat but can also make you eligible for scholarships, which is a major advantage for students who want financial support. Many students who didn't appear for national-level tests or couldn't score well still pur
