As I Know in abacus learning, children mainly use just two fingers — the thumb and the index finger.
The thumb is usually used to push the lower beads upward toward the bar. The index finger brings beads down or moves the upper bead. These two fingers work like a small team, moving quickly and rhythmically as the child calculates.
