Hello Shrankhala,It is indeed great to hear from you that you have a great dream of becoming an astronaut. Actually speaking, anyone can become an astronaut provided his / her speciality is required in space. US has wide spectrum of professions from which astronauts are selected. In Indian perspective, the choice is going to remain within fighter pilot category unless ISRO thinks differently. So, it all depends on right person at right place that will make him / her an astronaut. Best wishes to you.

Hello, What is next best way after aeronautical engineering or rather from any engineering is like a Shakespearen dilemma? Weather to study for post-graduation or go for job or MBA? This is always a million dollar question. There is nothing right or wrong in choosing any of the ways. It all depends on what you want in life. If you choose to go for post-graduation, so be it and you will end up becoming a specialist in that branch and definitely can get a good job and prosper in your career. On the other hand, if you want to go for MBA, that also is a good line to take and you will become a generalist rather than a technocrat in your car

Hello Naveenkumar,
Aeronautical Engineers, whether after Diploma or direct entry, perform same job once employed. They can perform design function, quality control, production supervision etc. Related any and all aspects of any flying object. This list is only as a sample and is not an exhaustive list. Best wishes to you.

Hello Shubham, At least in India, chemical engineering has much more potential for job as compared with aeronautical engineering. Job prospects for aeronautical engineering core jobs is restricted to perhaps ISRO or DRDO. On the other hand, for chemical engineers plenty of companies give employment. Best wishes.

Hello Balachander,
Yes, you have asked a very pertinent and interesting query. The scope for Aeronautical engineers in India is indeed Limited. There are not many opportunities for employment in this field. DRDO, ISRO or armed forces are the ones who employ Aeronautical engineers to some extent. Employment in private Industries is almost non existent. Hence I will definitely say that the scope for Aeronautical engineers in country today is rather Limited.

Aerospace engineering may have good scope in the future. You can join aerospace engineering by giving some entrance exams of particular course or could be joined directly.

Hello Rao,
There are plenty of job opportunities available for Aeronautical engineers. Of course, they may not be as high in number as for mechanical or electrical or computer engineer, but they are still enough. An aeronautical engineer can get a job in armed forces or ISRO or DRDO and also whenever the qualification mentioned is only graduation. However, the opportunity to work in the core Aeronautical field is much greater abroad as compared with India at least at the moment, but situation is likely to change for the better in future as more and more opportunities are opened in this field in India also.

Aeronautical engineering is an interdisciplinary post-graduation degree where mechanical / electronics /electrical / aeronautical engineer are eligible. Mechanical engineers will give ease in learning while doing M.Tech in AE. So do well and achieve the best.

Why are you focusing on rank? If you want to study aeronautical, then you should focus on basic i.e physics and Maths, and surely you will be able to score good rank to get into a College, else you can give UPES exam and take University of Petroleum and Engineering-Dehradun, as your College. It is really good college with really good exposure.
