It is indeed great to hear from you that you are interested in doing your graduation in engineering in aeronautical engineering branch after completion of your diploma via lateral entry scheme. Yes, of course. Different institutions have different procedure but eligibility remains same across the board. In India, there are plenty of good colleges offering Aeronautical Engineering branch. But, I am afraid the situation of Placements is not all that rosy for students of this branch. As per one report, majority end up doing MBA, some go abroad for MS and only handful get placed. You should have a minimum of 60% aggregate to be admitted in any branch of engineering, but then also you can contact the admission department of the respective college you are interested in.

Hello Shantanu,
Aeronautical engineering is available only in IIT and not in any NIT. So if you are thinking of admission in any NIT based on JEE Mains percentile, I am afraid it's not possible but based on your performance in JEE Mains only you can appear for JEE Advanced which is the entrance exam for getting admission in IIT. Of course there are some private colleges and some States which have assigned JEE Mains as entrance exam for the colleges in the states in such case of course in JEE Mains ranking will be of use. I am attaching a link which will predict college for you based on the percentile figure. Using this you can check at

I would advise you that please have a look at websites of ISRO, DRDO or IAF. These are three premium employers. Alternatively you can register yourself in "naukari.com" for getting offers. You can think of doing MBA or MS abroad. Even getting into civil service is good option.
