Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering is a technical graduate programme. This course is 4 years long with 8 semesters and is approved by AICTE. The following are the eligibility criteria:
The student must have passed the second PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and 45% in Physics and Mathematics, as well as Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology. Candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) would be eligible if they obtain 40% of the total marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

Yes, the Department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in 2011-12 to provide a UG programme in Aeronautical Engineering with an approved intake of 60 students, which was later increased to 120 students in subsequent academic years.

The fundamental motivation for establishing this programme was to provide quality education in Aeronautical Engineering with an emphasis on research, sustainable technologies, and entrepreneurship for societal symbiosis. The primary goal of the Department is to develop knowledge in specialised areas of Aeronautical Engineering such as aero-structural design, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, and control systems, with a focus on research and innovation.
The Department provides a vibrant academic environment that encourages independent study and the open exchange of ideas.

The department maintains ongoing contact with foreign R&D organisations in the field of aerospace engineering, which results in mutually beneficial research activities.
The teaching curriculum is amended on a regular basis to reflect the most recent advancements in the Aerospace industry, R&D organisations, and International Universities/Institutions B.Industrial Internships, Course Projects, Industrial Visits, Internal/External Training Programmes such as the Conduction of Conference/Workshop/Seminar/Flight Training Programmes, and interaction with experts from industries through Guest Lectures, facilitating participation in external competitions/seminars/conferences all contribute to students' learning.
Provides the principles needed for a career in the design, analysis, construction, testing, and operation of aeroplanes, helicopters, rockets, and spacecraft.
