The seat allotment process for the AMU BA LLB Entrance Exam counselling is conducted online and is based on several key factors:

• Merit Rank: Your rank in the entrance exam determines your position in the merit list.
• Choice Filling: During counselling, you'll select your preferred campus and course.
• Seat Availability: Seats are allotted based on the number of available seats in each programme and campus.
• Reservation Criteria: Applicable reservations (e.g., SC/ST/OBC/EWS) are considered during allotment.

Seat Allotment Procedure

• Registration: Eligible candidates must register on the official counselling portal: counselling.amuonline.ac.in.
• Choice Filling: After registration, candidates fill in their preferences for courses and campuses.
• Document Verification: Candidates upload necessary documents for verification.
• Seat Allotment: Based on merit, preferences, and seat availability, seats are allotted.
• Firm List Publication: The university publishes firm lists (e.g., Firm List 1) indicating allotted candidates.
• Admission Confirmation: Allotted candidates must confirm their admission by paying the required fee within the stipulated time.
• Subsequent Rounds: If seats remain vacant, further rounds (e.g., Firm List 2) are conducted.
• For detailed schedules and updates, regularly check the official AMU counselling portal: counselling.amuonline.ac.in.

The documents to be presented at the time of physical reporting for provisional admission completion at AMU are as follows: 

1. Marks sheet of qualifying examination (with four self-attested photocopies)
2. Transfer/migration and character certificate from the last attended institution
3. High school certificate or its equivalent in support of the date of birth
4. Five (2.5 x 3.0 cms) recent front-facing colour photographs (in white background)
5. Documents in support of Special Categories claimed in the application form
6. Leave sanction/relieving order from the employer for the entire duration of the course, if employed
7. Name removal certificate from the rolls of the concerned faculty/college/unit (if already enrolled on any full-time course of study at AMU)
8. Two self-addressed envelopes bearing postage stamps worth INR 22 each (to be submitted in the Office of the Provost of Hall of Residence/NRSC allotted). 
9. Two undertakings on plain paper – one on your behalf and the other on behalf of your parents/guardian regarding not indulging in ragging 
10. the latest certificate of vaccination for Typhoid, Cholera and Hepatitis “B” – (applicable only for BSc Nursing course)

AMU releases course-wise Firm Lists on based on CUET as well. AMU Counselling 2023 is to be conducted up to maximum of ten rounds for some courses like BTech whereas for other courses it is majorly conducted till seven or eight rounds, depending on the availability of the seats. AMU releases the Select List or the Interview Lists for the candidates who have been provisionally selected for AMU Counselling 2023, followed by the release of Firm Lists which contain the name of students finally selected for admissions after the counselling. The round-wise seat allotment results can be checked by the registered candidates on the official website of AMU as and when these are released.
