Well, the answer to this question can be subjective. For some people, sketching can be easier as they have experience and expertise in it; meanwhile, some people can find Animation easier. Sketching is done in various types, like doodling, photorealism, charcoal drawing, etc.

Indeed, there is a Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) in Animation and VFX course offered at ZICA (Zee Institute of Creative Art) Pune and this is a 3 year course affiliated to a famous University in Pune. Although their Degree program can also be said to have shorter (Certificate level) courses known as their Professional Programs, the accreditation aspect is on a university level. This will imply that students will have a degree in a university which affiliated to the institution when taking up their B.Voc. in Animation & VFX thus adding more academic value to their specialized education.
