No, you have to get it over 50% for the whole subject not only for the maths. In some cases, the optional subjects like Hindi and Sanskrit, etc. are excluded.

You can do MS in top colleges. But you have to crack GRE for it. GRE is an exam which provides the opportunity to students to pursue MS in foreign colleges .

NATA eligibility criteria 2017:
1. Candidates passed/appearing in 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with mathematics as one of the subjects (with 50% marks) is eligible to appear in NATA 2017.
2. The candidates passed/appearing in 10+3 Diploma with 50% marks (mathematics as one of the subjects) recognised by any state/central government can also apply.
I would suggest you to go for 11th, 12th and science PCM as it will take less time to become eligible for NATA. It will also open other options for you.
