Arts ( Fine / Visual / Performing ) Eligibility

Joining the Fine arts programme at Chandigarh University requires you to meet only a basic academic qualification. You need to have completed your 12th from a recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate, regardless of your chosen stream. Alternatively, if you hold a three year Diploma in any field, with the same percentage, you are equally eligible. This opens doors for students from Science, Commerce, and humanities backgrounds alike. Unlike some specialised art schools that demand prior fine arts education, CU believes in givin every interested student a chance to explore creativity. While admission is primarily merit based, appearing for the CUCET exam can help you gain scholarship, though it's not compulsory. Vocal, Swar Vadya, Taal Vadya:

• Completed a three-year BPA (Music) or equivalent examination with 45% or more, or
• Passed an undergraduate degree and must have passed Music for not less than five years in a recognised institution, or
• An undergraduate degree in any subject recognised by the UGC and having learnt Music for not less than five years from a well-known teacher/guru

Bharata Natyam & Kathak:

• Completed a BPA degree or equivalent in the chosen stream
• Candidates with a basic degree from another stream, not dance, need to have learnt the Classical Dance form for at least six to seven years from a Guru or recognised institution with proven credentials

• Passed Class 12 with a minimum of 40% with Classical Dance as one of the subjects, or
• Candidates who have not studied Classical Dance as one of the subjects must have learnt Classical Dance for not less than three years in a recognised institution
