The eligibility for the programme is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics, and English or equivalent. One has to qualify LPU NEST as well. Being a Commerce student, BCA can be the good option because degree or Diploma in Automobile mobile required 10+2 with PCM. So go with BCA.

Before joining any course try to know number of vacancy in that field, many will tell you it is good branch but in real it is one of the worst branch, in government sector vacancy in automobile engineering almost nil, it will better to take Diploma in civil branch, huge vacancy for civil student in government sector, you can choose computer Science also.

One of my friend was enrolled in B.Tech Automobile as well. Few major point I will be sharing about LPU, I hope that helps. LPU is good for automobile engineering. Good placements in core company as well as software company. Other than participating different events like go kart, project expo, entertainment events like one India, one world etc. Practical based learning and valuable guest lectures also. LPU provides a lot of opportunities to each and every of the eligible students for good placement. LPU rated as 11th Best in India from Zee News Survey in Placements. Dear Ashif, It depends on the college you get. The number of good institutes providing B.Tech in Automobile Engineering is less. In fact very few like VIT, LPU, RJIT, PSG, etc. IITs providing B.Tech in Automobile is also very few. So if you are not getting admission in these colleges for automobile, don't opt automobile engineering
My friend did B.Tech in Automobile Engineering at LPU and got placed in an MNC. He told me that the highest package offered for this programme at LPU is INR 31 LPA. Salient Features :

Dear Giri, Both B.Tech in Mechanical and Automobile engineering are good for career prospects. You have to make sure that from which university or institute you are pursuing the degree. The following are the best institutes for these programmes:
IITs/NITs
Delhi Technological University
Lovely Professional University
Anna University
Amrita University
SASTRA University
My friend did B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from LPU and got placed in an MNC. The highest package offered for the programme at LPU is INR 31 LPA. For more details, I recommend you to refer to the website of the university
