Yes, Indian students may need to take a medical check depending on the course, such as a CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate for commercial pilot training, or a general student visa medical exam.
Class 1 medical is only valid for 12 months before the start of the course date. Booking it 2 to 3 months in advance of the course start date gives students enough processing time without wasting its validity period.

Yes, Aviation Australia accepts students above 17 years of age. However, students under 18 years old need to nominate a parent, relative, or legal custodian over the age of 21 years as their student guardian.
This person will have to stay in Australia for the duration of your Australia student visa until you turn 18. Alternatively, as an underage student you may have to reside wuth an approved accommodation provider after recieving an Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) from Aviation Australia.
