St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is considered one of the best for BA because of its "Autonomous" status. Unlike many other local colleges, St. Xavier's sets its own updated syllabus and finishes exams on time. While other colleges might be cheaper, the discipline and the quality of teachers at St. Xavier's are better, comparatively. It provides a more professional environment that helps students prepare better for advanced education and future careers.

Please be informed that the degree you get from St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is officially awarded by Ranchi University, but it carries the college's own prestigious name. St. Xavier's is otherwise more popular and reputed due to its autonomous status, stronger academic reputation, and more active placement support. The quality of education and the training you get at St. Xavier's are usually more intense and modern compared to the standard university departments.

St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, offers a total of 175 seats for the BA English programme, and the classes are held in two sessions. Because English is a foundational and traditional subject, these seats fill up very quickly during the first round of admission. It is one of the larger departments in the Arts faculty at St. Xavier's, but the high number of applicants still makes getting a BA seat here a very competitive task for most students.

Yes, Indian Institute of Psychology and Research does offer a small fee relaxation to candidates who belong to the state of Karnataka. However, candidates only get a fee concession in the general BA course fees at Indian Institute of Psychology and Research. The BA (hons) course fees is the same for Karnataka candidates and non Karnataka candidates.

The Indian Institute of Psychology and Research offers BA courses in combined specialisations which include three of the following specialisations:
- Psychology
- Journalism
- Marketing
- Women Studies
- Optional English
- Economics
Out of these, all BA courses include Psychology as a mandatory specialisations. Below mentioned are the four combined specialisation courses offered by Indian Institute of Psychology and Research:

There are no mandatory entrance exams listed in the eligibility criteria for Indian Institute of Psychology and Research BA course. The Indian Institute of Psychology and Research course admissions are merit-based, taking into account the Class 12 board exam results of a candidate.
Thus, candidates who have received their Class 12 board exam result can apply directly for BA admissions.
