I am having my sister in Lovely Professional University, Punjab. She searched for the University on the basis of these parameters, Ranking, Exposure, Placements, Academics, and she seems to be satisfied while doing B.Com from LPU. University has been recognised by the UGC. Ranking is also good as it has been 11th best university in terms of placement. Students from all over the world have been studied over there and she is having a number of friends from out side India with whom she is planning to move outside India and start a new business venture. The programme aims to build in students competent business acumen through advanced study of general subjects such as Organizational Behavior and Cost Accountancy, later allowing them to specialize in a chosen area. The curriculum involves intensive study, culminating with the completion of a research-based dissertation. The course may also include Practical/ workshops, technical and entrepreneurial projects as well as courses with exposure to cutting edge technologies. The programme has been designed to offer to eligible candidates specialisation in a wide range of managerial skills, while at the same time building competence in a particular area of business. One of the principle objectives of the course is to prepare students for successfully operating in and contributing to the modern world of business, as also for pursuing advanced research in the discipline. The courses curriculum integrates theoretical and practical components of study. LPU provides a good platform for placements for all streams and programs. LPU has a separate dept which looks after placement opportunities. Apart from that, each school has its own placement coordinator who is responsible and actively works for not only calling companies to the campus, but also for preparing students for placements by giving them proper training.
