Thus, ultimately, it depends upon the interest level and passion of students and they can choose to pursue degrees in any of these fields. Both Biotechnology and Microbiology are equally beneficial for career growth. Having a biotechnology degree opens up many more doors, in various fields like industrial processes, management jobs while microbiology jobs are more research oriented. You also have an option of doing MBA in Biotechnology which is a new and emerging field of work.

Admission to this programme is based on either merit or a competitive admission exam. To apply for this programme, you must have a 10+2 level in Science (from any recognised board). The course pricing may differ depending on the institution. Candidate must have passed 10+2 from Tamil Nadu State board or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks taken together in English, Physics Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of BC, MBC, SC/ST categories). Selection is based on NEET score followed by counselling and interview.

The candidate should have passed 10+2 in Science Stream with min. 50 % marks from the recognized Board. Admission is done through Q.E. Merit. Candidates should know the CUET 2023 eligibility criteria are the minimum academic, and personal standards that they must fulfil to apply for the CUET exam. NTA has released the eligibility requirements, syllabus, and CUET exam pattern on its official website. Candidates who do not meet the CUET eligibility criteria will be disqualified even during the later stages of admission.

For admission into B.Sc Hons, students should have completed their 10+2 education with a minimum of 50% aggregate of marks in the science group. There are no age restrictions as the coursework accepts students across all age groups like the other sciences. A handful of universities require students to clear university-level entrance examinations for the admission process.

DU does not offers B.Tech, but one of its Department Cluster Innovation Centre offers B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations). You have to apply separately for the Entrance Exam for B.Tech. So fill that form, if you haven't already. They have 75% in 12th as eligibility criteria for the Entrance Exam but amid the Covid Pandemic, they might give some relaxation. Keep Updated on DU website for more information.
