NIT Raipur admissions for the BTech course typically begin in June, right after the JEE Advanced results are announced. The JoSAA portal opens for registration and choice filling during this time. Candidates who fill choices in the first round counselling are not required to fill choices again in the second and third round counselling. Candidates are thus advised to fill maximum number of choices in first round.

The basis of seat allotment in Uttarakhand BTech counselling in merit rank in the qualifying exam. If candidates are applying through class 12 marks, their merit rank will be calculated through marks in class 12 board exams. If candidates apply through JEE Main, seats will be allotted basis the rank in JEE Mains exam.
