Yes, most private colleges like UPES, DIT University, Uttaranchal University, and BFIT offer direct admission options. Some private colleges offer direct admission based on Class 12 board exam marks. However, clearing JEE Main improves your chances of getting into better-ranked colleges and may help you avail scholarships.

No, for regular B.Tech admission in KIET, eligibility is generally based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Computer Science usually cannot replace Chemistry for PCM percentage calculation.
However, Computer Science marks may be considered in some cases for Diploma students applying through lateral entry admission.

Yes, you can take admission in Government colleges through lateral entry after Diploma in CSE. For government colleges, you may need to appear in lateral entry entrance exams such as LEET, JELET, ECET, CUET, or sometimes JEE-based counselling depending on the state or university.
If you are not able to get admission in a government college, then you can also take lateral entry admission in private colleges through CUET, JEE, or direct admission process.
Most colleges allow Diploma students to join directly in the 2nd year (3rd semester) of B.Tech/B.E. CSE through lateral entry.

With 57.8 percentile in JEE Main and 73% boards, getting CSE/AI in top government colleges is unlikely. But you still have good chances in private colleges through UPTAC/AKTU or direct admission.
Possible options:
KIET Group of Institutions
ABES Engineering College
Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology
Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology
GLA University
You may get:
CSE
AI/ML
Data Science
IT
Main thing: focus on coding skills, projects, and internships. College matters, but skills matter more for placements.

No, a gap year after 12th will not affect your admission at private BTech colleges in Coimbatore at all. Most popular private colleges like PSG, Amrita, Kumaraguru, SNS, and Karpagam do not have any rule against students who took a gap year. They only look at your 12th marks and your TNEA or JEE score — not the year you passed your board exams.

Between Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran (CGC Landran), LPU is better. Let's do the factual comparison:
- Better placement opportunities in CSE with more companies visiting the campus.
- Bigger campus with many interesting activities and events.
- More focus on technical skills.
Good for those students who want more exposure and placement.
CGC
- CGC Landran also has opportunities, but as I know, generally fewer than LPU in comparison.
- CGC also has exposure, but in comparison, LPU gives more experience to students.
- CGC campus is smaller but decent for studies.
In my opinion, if someone want
