For a young 10+2 students this seems to be the most important question, Since placements are considered the top barometer of success I will talk about the factors leading to placement. Mostly placements is considered as a standalone process. Course curriculum, It needs to be dynamic and industry consulted then only the professionals will be developed which industry really needs. Programme delivery: Classroom teaching doesn't work anymore, it has o be experiential learning technique. Technology training: May times the students do get good skill sets, but these skills are there with many people in market, the freshers need to have the exposure to tools like Oracle, Advance excel, Github, other MOOCs etc. Which improve the efficiency manifold. Industry interface: To have more and more interactions with industry experts, learning the things hands on and networking!
Professional enhancement: Students come from various backgrounds and culture, they may be very good in inculcating the technical skills, but they also need to clear the interviews also for taking the jobs. The soft skills, communication, interpersonal and networking skills need to be inculcated in them not only for interviews but for whole of their careers. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every of the eligible students to secure good placement. The university has been ranked high by foreign agencies also with regard to placements of our students. Several big brands of the industry have visited LPU campus during academic session 2016-2017 for campus placements like Cvent, E-litmus, Talwar and Talwar Consultants, Roots Analysis Private Limited, etc. LPU students have also availed opportunities of Placements in government services like Indian Army, Indian Navy, Transport Corporation of India, etc. through on-campus/off-campus placement drives and SSB Interviews. The curriculum taught incorporates specific courses (subjects) under the notion of Professional Enhancement Programmes (PEP) in which the students are prepared to crack the placement processes. Internships offered through GIBS are much more than temporary job placements; they also tend to function as a "first look" into what an intern's future career could look like through pre-placement offers (PPO). Each year, as a result of the many different factors related to internship placements, there will be different percentages of PPOs received by students. Typically, students who have performed well throughout the course of their internships will be offered PPOs by the same recruiters. Recruiters utilize internships as a means to evaluate the work ethic, culture fit, problem-solving skills and performance level of interns in order to select the most employable candidates before the year's end.
