Well, while fieldwork is an extremely important part of Civil Engineering jobs, there is a possibility to become successful in the field even after skipping fieldwork. You may specialize in structural design and analysis, where the main job is to create blueprints for small and large projects, which is possible while sitting in an office setting.
Further, you can also get into management or consultant roles where the field visits are comparatively less and the major chunk of the job is planning and supervision, rather than direct on-site work.

Mathematics is one of the compulsory subjects for the BTech Civil Engineering course, as it is used in complex structural analysis and other important calculations involved in the field to make sure the infrastructural model is safe and sound. Even to get admission to the course, you must have PCM subjects in Class 12. Plus, you have to complete the core mathematics subject modules that are generally there in the first year of study.
