DoT, Shivaji University offers a four-year BTech programme in the full-time mode. The UG-level programme is offered in various specialisations. The subject included in the course curriculum depend on the specialisations selected by the students. However, the course structure for all specialisations is the same. Some pointers on the DoT BTech course structure are as follows:

• The four-year course is divided into eight semesters
• The curriculum is based on the CBCS scheme
• It includes various core and elective subjects relevant to the selected specialisations
• The curriculum also minor and major projects in addition to the theoretical and the practical subjects

Department of Technology (DoT), Shivaji University, offers BTech seats to eligible candidates based on their performance in the accepted entrance exams. These exams are JEE (Main) and MHT-CET. Those who have valid scores in one of these exams can register for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and select DoT, Shivaji University, Kolhapur during choice filling. CAP is the counselling and seat allocation process conducted by the Maharashtra CET Cell (DTE). Seats are allocated based on the merit lists released during various rounds of CAP. Shortlisted candidates must report to the campus for document verification and submit the applicable fees for seat confirmation.

BTech admission at Shivaji University's Department of Technology, Kolhapur, is subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility norms laid down by the AICTE and DTE norms for BTech admissions in Maharashtra. The general eligibility criteria as per the AICTE and DTE norms are as follows:

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board/ council, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ IT/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject or passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology
• They must have scored at least 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates from Maharashtra) in the qualifying exam

NOTE: The mentioned eligibility criteria is generally applicable to the BTech admission to colleges and institutes in Maharashtra through MHT-CET counselling. The specific eligibility criteria may vary.

Department of Technology, Shivaji University provides effective placement support to BTech students. It also conducts training sessions to help students grab the best recruitment opportunitites. As of now, the course-specific report on BTech placements has not been released by the department. In 2023, 75 companies visited the campus and offered job to 150 students. The the highest and the average packages offered during the placement drive for all courses were INR 7.50 LPA and INR 3.50 LPA, respectively. TCS, Hexaware Technologies, and Sankey Solutions, among others, were the leading companies that participated in DOT Kolhapur placements in 2023.
