As GATE score is 595 in the General category, the chances of getting a seat to M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering in top-tier (say) IIT is next to impossible because they cut off usually start at 700 or more. Nevertheless, through the counseling procedure of the CCMT, you can hope to reach in to many of the good NITs as well as other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs). Institutes such as NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Silchar, NIT Delhi, NIT Goa, and Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, are the ones to target as they have also had closing scores of CSE in the same range in past years. It is important that you have to attend the counseling rounds and note down the opening and closing scores of the colleges as well as the specializations you want to pursue.
