Government College, sector 9, Gurugram was ab initio established in the year 2003. Due to the growing demand for a college to accommodate the substantially increased number of students residing in the older part of the city and neighboring villages, the Haryana urban development authority under the direction of government. of Haryana established this institution. It was inaugurated by the then honorable chief minister of Haryana Ch. Om Prakash Chautala on Wednesday, 23rd august 2003. This institution embarked on its voyage in the academic session 2003-04. Initially the college offered admissions only in the humanities and commerce streams at the under graduate level.
