You should have minimum 50% in class 12th (any stream) to do BCA. Some colleges prefer students who have studied Mathematics till class 12th, whereas there are some colleges which give admission to those who had opted Arts or Commerce. No, both courses have different syllabus. You can pursue B.Com along with CA.

Suggesting you this in case you have some interest in Maths but if you hate Maths and love computer, go for BCA. Both have almost same career. So, decide in which you have interest. Both will pay you almost same.

It depends on you. BBA would make you able to work in various fields whereas BCA would make you limit to IT field only.

B.Sc. IT has little theoretical and maths inclination / emphasis therefore, BCA is little better option after 12th commerce students. However, you must choose among BCA and B.Sc. IT on criteria of quality of academics and placement records over degree. Thank you.

BCA at IGNOU is 10+2 cleared. IGNOU website is not clear on acceptance of Diploma in Computer Technology as equivalent to 10+2. Therefore, you may seek clarification from IGNOU on subject.

There is no difference between regular BCA and lateral entry BCA if the course is done from a recognised university or institute. Lateral entry BCA graduates can get jobs which a regular BCA graduate get. Indian IT industry does not prefer BCA for entry level developer and testers role. BCA graduates may get a junior developer or application support jobs. Syllabus of BCA includes courses on computer languages, data structure, databases and networking, etc. BCA degree course programme is primarily focused on in the field of computer applications.
