Salary wise, it isn't the best in the sector as the time and money spent in BDS (from a pvt. College) takes years and years for return compared with other Bachelor degrees unless you have a medical background.

BDS has not a good scope in foreign countries as a specializations is must to open your clinic. Its better for you to first complete your MS so that some more opportunities you can gain. "Aesthetic Dentistry" is the newer advancement in the field of dentistry.

The internship is compulsory and BDS Degree shall be granted after completion of one year paid Internship and passing of BDS examination.

The BDS is a 5 year (4 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme. This course can be pursued through full time and part time courses. The BDS is one of the most sought courses after 12th in medical field. There are many reputed universities in India which are offering the BDS course.
