Numerous opportunities exist for students pursuing a course in biomedical sciences in India. It is a vast, happening subject with great opportunities for laboratory work, management, research, education, and consultancy. Once you become qualified in the subject, you can work in the private sector or in the various national healthcare laboratories. An expert committee of the UGC had two years ago recommended that students enrolled in a regular degree course should be allowed to pursue an additional degree simultaneously under open or distance education mode from the same or different university.
However, students should not be allowed to undertake two regular degrees at the same time, the committee had held.

The students should have minimum 50% marks as aggregate in the degree course. The students will have to pass entrance examination for admission in M.Sc. Is Biology not a reasonable prerequisite to expect from future biomedical engineers? Of course it is an appropriate expectation from the engineers, since they are designing for the human body.
