It all depends on your experience. The starting salary for fresher's is about 80000-1lac per year. But it may vary on work experience. An experienced Biochemist earn about 7-8 lac per year

If you are a PCB student then you can't apply in IITs and NITs if you want to pursue B.Tech in biotechnology. But many private universities are there that do not keep maths as a compulsion.
Some of the best universities are:

1. Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC).
2. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
3. Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Research Fellowship.
If you are willing to pursue your career further as a junior research fellow or an assistant professor, then you can also prepare for CSIR NET exam, which is conducted for the science students twice in a year.

B.Sc Micro and Bio chemistry courses are common and there are many colleges that offer these courses. But agricultural engineering is a rare branch , only few institutions conduct this course. So its more demanding course than Bio chemistry and Microbiology
Agricultural engineers have opportunities in agricultural research centers, universities , large scale nurseries, plantations etc.
