Yes, a B.Tech in Bioinformatics is available in Hyderabad. Both IIT Hyderabad and Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research offer this program. IIT Hyderabad offers a 4-year B.Tech in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Vignan's Foundation also offers a B.Tech in Bioinformatics.

In India, B.Tech in Bioinformatics is generally a better option for jobs compared to Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech in Biotechnology because it combines biology with computer science, making it easier to get jobs in IT, pharma, and data-related roles, which are growing fast. While biotechnology is more research-focused and often needs higher studies for good jobs, bioinformatics offers quicker job opportunities and better flexibility. The jobs in biotechnology are generally low pay, so bioinformatics seems a better option job wise. Otherwise both are good in their respective roles.

There are around 190+ Bioinformatics colleges in India. Students can study in these colleges after qualifying entrance exams like CUET-PG, UGC NET, CUET, GATE, JMI Entrance Exam, ICAR AIEEA, etc. The most well-known colleges in India that offer Bioinformatics courses at various levels include the following colleges: Jamia Millia Islamia, Amity University, UniPune, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Bharathiar University, etc.
