BMS School of Architecture

BMS College of Architecture (BMSCA), is one of the oldest architecture colleges in Bangalore and is ranked 23 by NIRF 2025. BMS School of Architecture (BMSSA), is ranked 14 nationally by NIRF and is known for its collaborations with international institutions. BMSSA is affiliated with the Council of Architecture and has collaborations with IIRS Dehradun, ETSAB Barcelona, and the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme of the Government of India. Both are strong choices, with BMSSA being slightly higher in national rankings.

BMS School of Architecture was ranked 7 out of 62 among best institutes of architecture by IIRF 2025 while Nitte School of Architecture was ranked 56. So BMSSA is better ranked by IIRF.

Candidates with GATE rank are preferred for admission in M.Arch in BMS School of Architecture. Others can get admission based on score in Karnataka PG CET. For admission through Management Quota, selection is based on portfolio and performance of candidates in interview.

Qualifying Karnataka PGCET is compulsory for Karnataka domicile students to get admission in M.Arch in BMS School of Architecture. For others, it is not compulsory and they can get admission based on GATE score or through Management Quota.

Candidates who have qualified GATE exam are given preference for admission in M.Arch in BMS School of Architecture. But those who have qualified Karnataka PGCET are also considered for admission.

IIRF has awarded BMS School of Architecture rank 7 among the best Private Architecture Schools in India and rank 4 among the best Private Architecture Schools in Karnataka in 2025.

BMS School of Architecture accepts valid score in GATE exam and PGCET conducted by Karnataka government for admission in M.Arch programme. Qualifying Karnataka PGCET is compulsory for Karnataka domicile students. 

Students who do not have valid scores in accepted entrance exams can get admission through management quota if they qualify eligibility. Selection through management quota is based on portfolio of the candidate and performance in personal interview.
