The eligibility criteria for the B.E. / B.Tech course at M.S. Engineering College are as follows: pass in 10+2 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or equivalent) with the prescribed minimum percentage of marks. Admission is done on merit through entrance tests such as KCET or COMEDK conducted at the state level, or the national level entrance test, JEE Main. Candidates are then shortlisted in the basis of entrance exam, and a merit list is done. Those selected are given further counseling where they are seated according to one's rank and preferences.

The 60% must be secured in Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, depending on the course chosen. A 75 percentile in JEE probably gives you a little hope for getting into B.Tech at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), but it also depends on what branch you apply for. SMVDU considers students based on the ranks of JEE Main. So generally, these branches like Computer Science and Engineering are having much higher cutoffs. In most cases, a score at the percentile allows those who fall under the mid-range of candidates by a better chance for less competitive branches or if the seats are vacant after the first rounds of counseling.

Admission into the B.Tech programme of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) expects aspirants to have an average of 60% marks in Class 12th for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the subjects of study in Class 12th. However, meeting this eligibility does not end there, as RGIPT considers scores through JEE Mains and JEE Advanced for admission. So, while the eligibility criteria are 60% for Class 12, unless you do well in these entrance examinations, everything is totally dependent on your performance. The primary resource for admission into the B.Tech programme at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) is JEE Advanced results, as it tends to nurture the best students from an academic and technical background. 75% in JEE Mains is nevertheless not enough for directly gaining admission into B.Tech by RGIPT, as JEE Advanced is concerned most of the time. Yes, you can get admission to the B.E. / B.Tech courses at Camellia Institute of Technology (CIT) without WBJEE if you have a valid JEE Main score. While WBJEE is the preferred entrance exam for candidates from West Bengal, students from other states can apply using their JEE Main scores. Diploma holders of Andhra Pradesh can now get direct admission in B.Tech colleges in Tamil Nadu. TNEA rules state that Diploma holders from other states including Andhra Pradesh can get lateral entry into BE. They must have passed three years Diploma course with the minimum 50 % marks for general cat. & 45% for reserved cat. The candidates who appear for the exam will be admitted to second year of the B.Tech program. The fees structure for lateral entry students of Tamil Nadu B.Tech colleges differ from INR 40,000 to INR 2,00,000 per year.
