The selection process for B.Tech admission varies from college to college, but generally, a score of 180+ in JEE Mains is considered for admission in top B.Tech colleges. However, the minimum JEE score required may vary depending on the college and the year. Some institutes require a minimum aggregate of 55% or 60% or above in class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Candidates must appear for entrance exams such as JEE Mains and JEE Advanced, and some colleges also accept other entrance exams such as BITSAT, WBJEE, and UPSEE. Some colleges also offer direct admission based on class 12th score or under management quota seats

The ADYPU School of Engineering Pune establishes competitive cut-offs for admission, with the MHT CET Last Round scores serving as a key determinant. In 2022, for the B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science program, the cut-off stood at 84.68. Similarly, the cut-off for B.Tech. in Computer Engineering (Human Computer Interaction) was 90.7, indicating the level of academic excellence required for admission. Notably, the cut-offs for B.Tech. in Automobile Engineering and B.Tech. in Civil Engineering were extremely competitive at 0.44 and 0.04, respectively. There are 60 seats available for each branch except in B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is of only having 30 seats available.
