Yes, a cutoff rank of 1000 in JEE Advanced is considered a safe rank for getting admission at IIT Kanpur for OBC category students. However, you can't get any BTech specialisation with this rank, as the cutoffs are on the competitive side for popular branches. Some of the available specialisations are given below:

To get the core BTech branches, such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc, the SC category students must target a cutoff rank of up to 6585 for admission in Round 1. The cutoff ranks might vary in other rounds and for other categories. Candidates can refer to the table below to view the BTech core branches cutoff ranks 2026 for Round 1.

IIT BHU BTech cutoff 2026 has been released, wherein the Round 1 closing ranks varied between 1436 and 13991 for General, while for the EWS category, the cutoff ranks were between 245 and 2062. During the IIT BHU JEE Advanced cutoff 2026, the Round 1 closing ranks for BTech core branches, including Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, ranged between 936 and 2245 for the SC category students under the AI quota.  Considering the first round cutoff, candidates must target a cutoff rank of up to 2245 and below to get BTech core branches at IIT Varanasi.

For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced Round 1 cutoff 2026 ranged from 1191 to 1948, including BTech core branches, such as Civil, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. Considering the first round cutoff, candidates are advised to target a lower cutoff than the one mentioned here to get admission to BTech core branches at IIT Guwahati. Check out the last three years' cutoff trends for all three BTech branches for Round 1.

IIT Guwahati BTech cutoff 2026 ranged from 810 to 10525 for the students belonging to the General category AI quota. Similarly, for the EWS category, the Round 1 closing ranks varied between 120 and 1596 under the AI quota.
