MBA refers to a management degree issued by a University and PGDM refers to Post Graduate Diploma in Management offered by a private college, institute or university, affiliated to AICTE. The course curriculum, pedagogy, teaching methods, etc. are same for both courses. Even the market value is almost same for both.

However, if you wish your efforts in MBA to pay off, it is advisable to apply for highly recognised colleges which will need you to hold a GMAT score.
