For admission to MBA and PGDM course at IIBS Bangalore, candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria and apply and appear for one of the entrance exams accepted by the college. The entrance exams accepted for the MBA and PGDM course include IIBSAT/CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT and others, followed by GDPI round. Furthermore, the eligibility criteria for admission is that the candidate should have passed a Bachelor's degree with 50% aggreagte in any discipline. It is not difficult to get admission if the candidate fulfils these selection criteria.

The PGDM and MBA programme offered at the institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admissions to SMIT BBA programmes are open early, and students are encouraged to apply early since the institute has limited seats. Applicants can apply before appearing for their final exams. The admissions committee will take into account the marks of previous years/exams in processing the applications. Applicants who receive offer letters can join with a provisional admission and submit their results later.
