Established in 2010 through Meghalaya State Legislative Act, Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University has also gained recognition from Distance Education Bureau (DEB), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI) and is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It has received ‘Outstanding University in Training and Placement Award 2020’ in 16th World Education Summit-Hyderabad.
Mahatma Gandhi University Meghalaya comprises eight faculty, one centre and 21 departments offering courses at UG, PG, doctoral and diploma level in various streams like Science & Technology, Management & Commerce, Arts, Law & Education and Applied Technology, to name a few.
