Though well-renowned for its agriculture and allied courses, Assam Agricultural University offers an MBA in Agri-Business. This course would specifically focus on the agriculture sector and rural development. However, it is a lesser-known business school if compared to others for general MBA courses. For agri-business or rural management, it would do. The strengths of the programme are campus environment, faculty, and exposure to agriculture-related industries. If you want more of a traditional or general MBA, you may want to take your search elsewhere to another university that has business education with stronger emphasis.

The fee structure of MMS is very much lower if we compare it to PGP or PGDM programmes. The tuition fee of the major B-schools that are providing MMS programme range from Rs. 2 Lacs to Rs. 6 lakh. The fee amount may be different in different institute but the range of fees is likely to be around Rs. 10 lakh.
The cost of a Master of Management Studies degree differs by institute. However, the location of the institute, the duration of the programme, and the specialisation are all factors that may influence the cost structure.

One of the most common postgraduate degree courses that prepares you for managerial and administrative professions in management is the Master of Business Administration. It is a 2-year programme that is basically divided into 4 semesters, but the time period may differ depending on the degree.
Despite its growing popularity, the Master of Management Studies programme is still relatively new in comparison to the MBA. It is also a degree that will land you a profitable job in business. This degree is also two years lengthy and divided into four semesters, but there are no modifications - only the master's course.

The industry perceives the value of MMS to be equivalent to an MBA or a PGDM. As stated above, the course curriculum is on similar lines as that of the MBA and PGDM and the students get ample industry exposure along with approximately three-month summer internship. Moreover, if s/he is armed with an MMS degree from reputed institutes like JBIMS or SIMSREE, then its value is considered equivalent as that of a PGP from IIMs or MBA from FMS, Delhi or IIFT or a PGDM from XLRI Jamshedpur or MDI Gurgaon.
