Calicut University has a School for Distance Education, Calicut University offering UG and PG courses. Calicut University SDE offers 25 courses to students. The cheapest way to get from Thrissur to University of Calicut is to train which takes 2h13m and costs Rs.650-Rs1,400. Alternatively, you can take bus, which costs Rs.1,000-Rs1,400 and takes 2h 33m. But the buses are more frequent, and you can get down right at the University Bus Stop and walk to the Campus. On a good day, with minimal traffic and good roads, it might take around 3-4 Hours (depending upon the speed of the bus). Trains are less frequent. There might be delays.
