People from a psychology background or non-psychology background both can become a career counselor. But, should have very high interest and willingness to contribute to society. Career counseling is huge in demand. In India, we need 1.4 Million career counselors where we have hardly 10,000 As of now. But to become a professional career counselor you should have knowledge of career analysis and psychometric assessment. A certified career analyst programme is recommended to become a career counsellor.
