Apart from scoring 99% in CAT, you must have a good academic background for getting admission in IIM.

Above 70% is a good score to get admission in B-school. To get admission in colleges like KJ Somaiya, IFMR or Great Lakes, interviewee also checks your profile and experience. Average CAT score goes to 85 percentile in the same.

Final year students can also appear for such exams but in order to get placed in colleges you need to complete your graduation and meet the required age criteria.

Hi Prasanth
minimum is 50% + CAT score. But, as the competition increasing for getting admission- you should have a decent mark supported by consistent academic backgrounds. Only these things will help you to become shortlisted. Once shortlisted , rest is in your hand. your performance in GD and PI will matter. Your performance must be good enough.

You need to score 50% in your UG from B.Tech/BE, or any other Bachelor's degree like B.Com, BBA and many more. You can also appear for the same, while in your final semester.
Good luck.

The only eligibility for CAT is to have a graduation degree or pursuing one. So I hope you are eligible for that.
PS there is a whole document on the CAT site where eligibility criteria is elaborated in detail you can refer to that for further assurance.

Hi Kirti,
I think, you have to do lot of hard work for CAT exam. You should make a proper time table and stick to it. You need to be focused on mathematics formulas. You should be aware about GK and you should read newspaper. You can start from basic concept and go for the best CAT coaching.
