The main thing is to first check which section needs more attention and then work on accuracy time management and question selection. Regular mock tests can help identify repeated mistakes. CAT sectional cutoff is the minimum percentile score required in each individual section (VARC, DILR, and QA) to qualify for an institute's selection process. All IIMs have a distinct admission policy, including the sectional cutoffs and overall cutoff scores.

IIM exam score remains valid a period of one year for admissions. However, IIM Ahmedabad has a deferred admission policy for its flagship PGP course, allowing selected candidates to postpone joining by up to two years to gain work experience.
Some other IIMs like IIM Trichy and IIM Sirmaur have known to permit, conditional deferrals in the past. However, they do not have a structured policy for the same.

In CAT 2025, the number of 100 percentilers was 12. Check state wise data:

The CAT 2025 examination results have been officially published. Candidates who took this test may now access their respective IIMCAT scorecards by visiting the IIMCAT web portal and entering their registration ID and password. Each candidate's scorecard contains information concerning his/her sectional and overall scores and percentile ranking that will be used by IIMs and other participating institutions for the purposes of creating lists from which applicants will be chosen for interview. All candidates should maintain both a digital copy and one printed copy of their scorecards to support any future admission application processes.

In CAT 2025, the number of 100 percentilers was 12. Maximum toppers were from Delhi (3). IIM Kozhikode had released the state wise toppers data along with CAT 2025 result on December 24, 2025.
