I passed my board exams in 2025. Can I give my improvement exam next year (2026) as a private candidate, without giving it this year?
Yes you can give your improvement exam in 2026 as a private candidate. According to the CBSE rules a candidate who has passed an examination can reappear for improvement of performance in one or more subjects in the succeeding year only.

Its not neccessary to take admission in class 12th again, its completely your choice. You can fill the NIOS improvement exam form for specific subjects or you can also fill CBSE improvement exam form if you have attended school in CBSE board.
