CIT (Central Institute of Technology) Kokrajhar is a government institution. It is a centrally funded technical institute under the Ministry of Education (formerly Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India. It was established in 2006 as an outcome of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) on Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
Central Institute of Technology Raipur: This institute is private, established in 2009, and affiliated with AICTE .

The faculty of Central Institute of Technology is very supportive and encouraging to students. The faculty is Mtech or PhD holders from institutes like IIT and NIT. They are very good with students and are very supportive. Many of them have their abroad exposure which helps students to learn a lot from the teachers.

Central Institute of Technology Cutoff 2025 for the Round 1 seat allotment results has been released by the institute, based on candidates' performance in JEE Main. As per the Round 1 cutoff data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 50806 and 73070 for the General AI category candidates. The toughest course out of all was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the Round 1 closing rank of 50806, for the General AI category candidates.
