Most of the students from Computer Science or Electronics wants to change their branch to Engineering Mathematics or Physics or Aeronautical engineering or any other branch. A candidate can chance his/her engineering branch for M.Tech.

It is totally based on your interest. If you are really good in dealing with Chemistry, you can go with Chemical Engineering. Else, if you are good in dealing with Physics and contributions then go with Civil.

Every branch of engineering is an evergreen branch. There are three core branches in engineering field which are mechanical, civil, electrical. All other are the parts of these three. Chemical engineering has benefits like he doesn't have to concourse as others have. The jobs it gives are completely made for only chemical engineering. No mechanical or other graduates can take it. Many companies like Amoco, BASF, Chevron, etc., provide jobs to chemical engineers.

I would say, for fresher the highest pay package you can get is INR. 20 Lacs - INR. 25 Lacs per annum. But, it depends upon organization. Majority of fresher end up on average package or INR. 34.5 LPA. And, that high salary normally only valid for IITs. Even, NIT end up with maximum INR. 7.89 LPA package. The salary packages were from INR. 2.8 Lacs per. The chemical engineering got placed in many of the renowned companies in Anna University. Anna University Students of chemical engineering got placed in many of the renowned companies.

You have completed your degree in chemical engineering and you are interested in doing a course in food preservation etc. Yes this definitely appears to be a very good course to expand your horizon and also increase your employability. Food processing industry in India is bound and set to increase exponentially in the coming years in India. With your chemical engineering background you will be the most suitable person to enter into this field as an employee of some company or you can even think of starting your own company in the field of preservation of horticulture products.

Hello Shubham, At least in India, chemical engineering has much more potential for job as compared with aeronautical engineering. Job prospects for aeronautical engineering core jobs is restricted to perhaps ISRO or DRDO. On the other hand, for chemical engineers plenty of companies give employment. Best wishes.
